A Lap Ahead

This week on the BCT Blog we wanted to spotlight an awesome customer and his brand new custom race trailer! Meet Dalton McKinnon.

Dalton has been around the track once or twice, and has a lot of experience when it comes to all things drag racing. He has competed in many prestigious races, and landed a top spot the Super Pro Points Championship at South Georgia Motorsports Park in 2021.

As a third-generation drag racer, Dalton was on a quest to find the perfect enclosed cargo trailer that would exceed his expectations on and off the track. After talking with one of our sales representatives, the building process began. He decided to go with an 8.5×24 tandem axle trailer complete with our Boss Package, as well as: metal walls and ceilings, rubber floors, upper and base cabinets, .030 white metal, alloy wheels, ATP Jeep fenders, electrical package, A/C unit, generator box, loading lights, running lights, and more!

We cannot wait to cheer him on in all of his racing endeavors, and we are so thankful to have him, his wife Emily, and all of his family as a part of our BOSS team. Thank you, Dalton!

Happy Trails,

The Team at Boss Cargo

Just Horsin' Around

This week on the BCT Blog we are honored to feature one of our incredible customers, Brigitte Pelrine!

After moving to Aiken, South Carolina with her husband, Dan, and their daughter, Sierra, Brigitte knew the equine industry was calling her name. Having grown up in a family of horse enthusiasts, it was no surprise that horses were going to be a huge part of her day to day life.

She is now approaching one year of being a sales representative for County Saddlery — Saddles & Saddle Fittings. “Every day looks different. I get to meet new riders and horses every week. I love that about my job.”

Before purchasing her brand new enclosed cargo trailer, Brigitte was single-handedly loading and unloading 20-30 saddles into the back of her truck every day to travel and meet with potential clients. “I definitely needed more space and more organization. I also wanted to have a professional and polished look whenever I arrived to meet with clients.”  That is when Brigitte reached out to our sales team. After discussing her wants and needs, she landed on a brand new 7×14 tandem axle enclosed trailer complete with the black out package.

Once she made it home with her new trailer, the customization process could finally commence!  Brigitte and Dan painted the interior a crisp white, added custom flooring, saddle racks, and even some stylish rugs. They plan to incorporate some additional lighting and a bench!

Brigitte said this trailer purchase was a great investment. It is much more practical, professional, and secure; not to mention the excellent marketing it provides!

We asked Brigitte about her overall experience with the Boss team, to which she answered,

“You guys do a phenomenal job as a team. It was painless. I got to focus on my business and know you guys were taking care of me. I knew you had my back the entire time. Only Boss made me feel like I was family and that I was being taken care of…not just a sales number.”

We want to thank Brigitte for allowing us to be a part of this exciting process! We wish you the BEST in your business and can’t wait to see how your new trailer benefits you in all of your equine endeavors!

Happy Trails,

Boss Cargo Team

Enclosed Cargo Trailer Purchase Guide

Need to buy an enclosed cargo trailer but not sure where to start? We’ve got you! Before purchasing your enclosed cargo trailer, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • What are you going to be using your enclosed cargo trailer for?
  • What length do you need?
  • What width do you need?
  • How much rear ramp clearance do you need?
(Rear Ramp and Barn Doors are shorter than interior height)
  • How much weight are you going to carry?
  • How much time do you have?  (Some trailer options take several weeks to complete)
  • Do you need to upgrade your rear ramp door?
    (8.5 Standard ramp holds 4000lb — 7Wide standard holds 2000lb)
  • Do you want to upgrade the metal thickness?
(This is an option you will always be glad you chose)
  • Are you in an area with Snow?    (If yes, then you need to upgrade your roof bows!)
  • Next, you can choose to build out your custom trailer, or see if one of our in-stock units can get the job done!

To build your custom-enclosed cargo trailer, you will need to:

  1. Select Your Base Model

We are a dealer for the top cargo trailer manufacturers in the country and we sell all of the popular sizes. We sell trailers that are 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8.5 feet wide and come in lengths 6 and 36 feet long. You will select options as you build your trailer to ensure it has the right equipment for the job!

  1. Select Your Options

There are many options to choose from when ordering your trailer. As you navigate your shopping cart, you will be able to add options that enhance the appearance and functionality of your trailer.

  1. Set Up Your Payment

A deposit is required to hold your trailer while awaiting pickup.
The deposit can be paid with a credit card (a 4% fee applies), via ACH ($15 fee), or mailed in by cashier’s check.

Remaining balance will be due when you take ownership of your enclosed cargo trailer.
Final payment can be made by cash or cashier’s check. If we customize your trailer, a deposit of at least 25% is required.

  1. Arrange for Pick-Up or Delivery

Trailer Pick-Up Hours

We also schedule after hours pick up free of charge! Your pickup time will be arranged when we finalize your sale. We will work with you personally to schedule this.

It Takes Two to Tandem

Tandem axle enclosed cargo trailers may be a great option for customers that require a larger payload capacity. They have two axles and four wheels, two being on each side of the trailer.

They come standard with electric brakes, as well as a 7-way Bargeman plug that gives the driver turn signals, brake lights, and LED running lights. They have a 2 5/16” coupler that requires a 2 5/16” ball. It is imperative that the customer ensures they have the correct size ball to prevent an accident or damage while pulling the trailer.

Tandem axle enclosed cargo trailers are named with the abbreviation “TA” following the size of the trailer.

Tandem axles start at 6x10TA and go up to an 8.5x32TA.

Sizes 8.5x26TA and up come with standard 5200lb tandem axles.

By calling one of our sales experts, we can help you determine which size trailer and axles will work best for you and your needs!

Single Axles

Single-axle enclosed cargo trailers may be a great option for customers that do not require a large payload capacity. They have one axle and two wheels, one being on each side of the trailer.

Single axle enclosed trailers do not come standard with electric brakes, but do have a 4-way flat that gives the driver turn signals, brake lights, and LED running lights. They also have a 2” coupler which requires a 2” ball.

Single axle trailers are named with the abbreviation “SA” following the size of the trailer.  Single axle trailer sizes start at 4x6SA and go up to a 7x14SA.
